Worksheets are tedious. Skilmore Self-Study gives learners from Grade 4 to Grade 12 a structured daily revision session that feels more like a game than a chore. Your child joins a chatroom with other learners studying the same subject and grade, answers live trivia questions drawn from the CAPS question bank, and sees how they rank against peers — without the kind of screen time that feels wasted to a parent.

A typical session lasts 15 minutes. The learner opens the app, selects their subject for the day — Mathematics, Natural Sciences, Social Sciences, English, or Afrikaans — and joins a room. Questions appear in the chat one at a time. They type their answer, see the correct response immediately, and move to the next question. At the end of the session, a summary shows how many questions they answered correctly and how they compared to other learners in the same room. Parents can view the dashboard at any time to see which subjects have been studied and how progress is trending over time.

The Family plan supports up to five learners under a single subscription, making it practical for larger homeschooling households. All chatrooms are moderated — no strangers can send private messages to a child — and the environment is designed specifically for home education, not general consumer entertainment.
